It is quite something when you get to know a designer and can link their personality with their designs. You can then start to see how much they like telling stories and how they adapt the original ideas into something new.
An RPG that takes a well known hero and brings him close to us and enables us to play those heroes take a great risk. The risk of disappointing us.
That is what Cubicle 7 has done with the Doctor Who: Adventure in Time and Space RPG, take a risk. Both because people will have great expectations of the game,and secondly because it is a dear license for the BBC and great care has to be taken to portray the much loved TV series as well as possible.

When a company does games well, jumping into a parallel side of the business with a different type of game is a risky strategy. Even though a well known license will attract people to the product, the reputation of both the product and the license puts a lot of pressure on the company to come up with a great game.
Based on the the universe that brought you Neuroshima Hex and the same company that brought you Pret-A-Porter, Neuroshima Hex and many others, The Convoy is one of the latest releases from Portal and inventions from Ignacy Trzewiczek.
This game promises a lot from the moment go. It compares itself to Chess and Checkers and even states that
To say that I am a fan of Alien Frontiers is a bit of an understatement. I have been playing that game since the second run and it comes onto my table more often than any other game.
So when the Factions Kickstarter came up, I just had to back it. More friends to share the game has to be a good thing, right?
Found this game in a clearance trader at the UK Games Expo and I couldn’t help myself, I had to have it. The game is a bit damaged, though, son don’t think this is representative of the game you’d get. It’s just a bent corner of the board, though, so I think it was worth the money.
Recently, at the UK Games Expo I came across this game from Asmodee and Matagot. I knew nothing about it, but it has cats and it’s Matagot, so I had to have it because they produce truly gorgeous games.
So I have delved into the box and its contents and found out what’s inside and if it is any good.
Surprises galore inside!
