Whoever designed this game must be some sort of planning and structuring genius. Tales of the Arabian Nights is a cross between a board game and the Choose Your Own Adventure books I enjoyed in my youth – only the adventure book that comes with it contains more than 2,000 different paragraphs.

Potion-Making Practice from RightGames

Now for the 4th in a series of card based games from Rightgames, Potion-Making Practice, which is probably the most fun. A game for 2-6 players, ages 8+ (not so sure about this…), the players are attending a lesson in potion making at the Sorcery College and the student who collects the most victory points by collecting elements and creating alchemical formulas (the more complex, the better) wins.

Ascending Empires

As pretty much everyone knows by now, I love most dexterity games, but even more than that, I truly love science fiction. Even more than that, I truly love 4X conquest games, so when I heard about Ascending Empires, it immediately folded space into the forefront of games I wanted to buy.

Spiel 2011–The high points

Spiel has been going on since the early 1980’s and every year has been attracting more and more games companies looking to showcase and sell their games. It is currently the biggest games trade show in the world and it attracts over 150.000 people over 4 days. No mean feat at all!
