534857_364376386942846_220443088_nGaming can manifest in many ways and it can make us do some very strange things, like web series.

We have had other web series in the past when we had Joanna Gaskell for an interview about her web series, and now we have another producer with a very different offering.

Game Knights is a web series about a bunch of friends who get together and play role playing games. The series is a mix of real-life and animated cartoons and it shows the players around the table and their adventures.

But I rather say nothing else and let you find out from the voice of Javier Palenzuela, the producer of the series.

Enjoy the show! (please)

As usual, your feedback is most appreciated, so please do feel free to email us on podcast@gmsmagazine.com and let us know what you think!

SaLogoFinalSmall1Another episode with a twist. In this episode we don’t talk games. Well… not all the time.

I had the pleasure of taking to Joanna Gaskell, the producer, writer, actress and overall brains and passion behind Standard Action, one of the bet produced and funniest fantasy web series out there.

The series has gone through one full season and season two episodes are being screened now, with still some episodes to come. Season three is currently being funded in Kickstarter and has already got enough money to produce the third season, though there are some really cool stretch goals to come.

But there is a lot more than meets the eye to this series and to Joanna as well. And some seriously exciting plans!

Enjoy the show! (please)

Conpulsion_2013You thought I had forgotten about Conpulsion? Well, nop!

Another of the seminars at the convention and this time Andy Hepworth, Scott Neal, Paul Bourne and Paul Canavan speak about the world of art and all the funky stuff they get up to.

And I asked a few questions. Because… you know… that’s what I do…

Remember our friends at Nearly Enough Dice have also some more interviews and videos from the convention.

Midwest_minis_guyOne more episode and getting closer to 100!

This episode brings you an interview with Tom Nelson, the Midwest Miniatures Guy.

But before I tell you about that, two announcements. One small, and one very big one.

The first one is to give a shout-out to Standard Action, probably one of the best web series out there. It’s really funny, well written and extremely well produced. They are currently running the Kickstarter to fund the third season, which means you can already see what they can do and how, so you’ll get a good idea of what sort of quality you’ll help fund. You can watch the episodes so far here.

The second shout-out is for Goblinaid. This is the initiative that the guys from Fenris Games to help out Kev “The Goblinmaster” Adams. A few weeks ago three youths broke into Kev’s home, stabbed him and beat him up quite severely. Doctors have been able to save his eye and he will fully recover, but he’s in need of help to get back on his feet. Goblinaid is trying to do just that; get a bit of money to help Kev while he recovers. Please head to the Goblinaid page now and help however you can. Thank you.

And the interview with Tom will give you a good idea of what to look for in a painted mini, why would you want to pain them and also how to find Tom so he can paint the minis you don’t have time for. At $10 per hour, I can tell you that is a steal!

Hope you enjoy the show!

Time for another podcast. This time Jenn, Vickey and I just have a chat about many things. Some of them are in the podcast!

First thing we talked about was Deimonorum, the RPG project recently started to create a community driven and written role playing game.

In Deimonorum, 1985 saw the start of a demonic plague that destroyed 99.5% of the human population. Of the remaining people, only 100.000 are men. In the whole planet.

We also discuss the news that Will Wheaton is considering a spinoff Tabletop to cover role playing games. This news came after he had a go at Savage Worlds and liked enough to consider it worth of the idea. Of course maybe nothing will happen, as producing a show to the standards we are accustomed to is *very* expensive.

And very own Enzeitgeist sends us a little piece about what considerations to keep in mind when you advertise your games and compare with other, theoretically similar games.

Enjoy the show! (please)

Conpulsion_2013Third in the series of episodes from Conpulsion.

This time I bring you, with out most pleasure, an interview with Kevin Beimers, the mind behind Italic Pig. I could tell you what that is, but Kevin explains much better than I could during the interview.

Not an interview about RPGs or Board Games, but about videogames for the mobile platform, but I think you’ll find it interesting. Or I hope you will!

Enjoy the show! (please)
