I wonder if you are still here. I wonder if you are still hiding behind a stack of hay trying to catch me by surprise and throw a bunch of reeds over my head.

I’m hoping you still think of the times when we used to set the traps for the rats, to stop them from nesting and infesting the whole place, ruining the crop that we so hard worked to harvest that year. Your way with cats is something I don’t have and they don’t hunt rats like they did when you were here.

Consumerism, Criticism, And The Bernays Effect On The Board Game Industry

There has been a great deal of hand-wringing about the lack of what people are calling “true criticism” in the board game industry, of late. What the hand-wringers are wringing wildly about is the idea that there aren’t enough truly in-depth reviews on games, or games that speak from a level of experience; from the perspective of someone who has either mastered the game or has a trained enough eye to be able to spot the flaws in the gem that is a boardgame without actually having played it to death.

Michael Rohan Memorial Bundle

Michael Rohan, my son, died on June 10th of this year following a drowning accident at a local water park. We are trying to turn this tragedy into something greater and we are establishing a fund in his honour that will help pay for swimming lessons, lifeguard training, CPR training, and grief counselling to our local area.
