Tomes of Antiquity: (The) Dragon Magazine

Dragon magazine, originally launched as The Dragon magazine, was published for 31 years. The Dragon debuted in June 1976 as a publication of Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) as a replacement for The Strategic Review‘s brief run. At some point, the publication was renamed Dragon Magazine from the original The Dragon magazine. In 1997, after the purchase or TSR by Wizards of the Coast in 1997, publication was of the magazine was shifted to Washington state from Wisconsin. In 2002, WotC licensed the rights to publish both Dragon and Dungeon magazines to Paizo Publishing.

Lovecraftian Inspirations

There’s a lot one could say on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, but the difficulty comes in finding something to say that others — or oneself — haven’t already said on similar occasions in the past. In some sense, that’s a testament to the huge debt we all owe the Old Gent: almost anything we say about him has already been said many times before, probably more eloquently and more originally than anything we can possibly say ourselves.

PaizoCon 2010

I haven’t been to a gaming convention in 15 years or more, and the last one I went to I organised. Also, I will point it out now just so you can stop reading this if you decide not to like me, I don’t like Birmingham, which is where PaizoCon took place. So, as you can imagine, I was well of practice and out of my comfort zone.
