I’m firmly of a mind that eventually, all games will become digital, with only the most afflicted of Luddites still having the cardboard versions.

I went into playing this game a low level of interest. I did some checking and the DVG Leader series of games is pretty well regarded so I thought that at least the pedigree of U-Boat Leader was good.

As a long-time war gamer, I have been very remiss. I’ve never really played block war games. I guess I just never found them appealing but I couldn’t tell you why to be honest. So its about dang time I discovered whether I’m missing anything don’t you think?
Now I will state up front that I’m not a huge fan of many Martin Wallace games as for the most part they are too “EuroGamey” for me. It’s a game style preference issue, nothing to do with the quality of his games. But I certainly bow to his obvious creativity and talent in board game design without question and interestingly, when I interviewed him at this year’s UK Expo, I found out that he is a long time war gamer.
