BattleCon gets in for a good Kickstarter

BattleCON (short for Battle Connection) a head to head fighting game where two players take on different characters and attempt to defeat one another in single combat. It mirrors the strategy and tactics of a console fighting game like Street Fighter, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, or Virtua Fighter. You may have seen other games like that before. The idea isn’t revolutionary, but the gameplay is. Here’s a breakdown.

30 Cloaks of Deception

This pdf from Rite Publishing is 16 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD and 2 pages of ads, leaving 11 pages for the cloaks for Paizo’s Pathfinder system. The first page of the pdf features a nice, old-school table where you could roll d%s to randomly assign cloaks to treasure. They cloaks range in price from 800 Gp to a whopping 180000 Gp.

Merchants And Marauders

I was never much a fan of the old pirate stories, and I sure as hell don’t like the Somali scumbags that are boarding merchant vessels in the modern world today. That being said, the moment I heard about Z-Man’s Merchants and Marauders, I wanted it. I read a bit about it on the Z-Man website, read some rumours on the interwebz, and each new story made this seem like an amazing adventure game. While I am indeed usually optimistic, I simply had to get this to prove to myself that it may be the game to change my mind, forever, about pirates, and more specifically, pirate games.

Thunderstone Dragonspire

I was very fortunate, once again, that the nice people at AEG sent me out a copy of Dragonspire to try out and, spoiler alert, I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’ve never played a deck building game before and to be honest the concept never really appealed to me but Thunderstone has hit the table every night this week.
