There are a lot of companies out there that claim that for them the gameplay is what matters, not the game components. And I mean a lot.
Victory Point Games, though, is one that lives by that motto. They have been producing games that came with next to nothing components and in a little bag. And there have been some gems in those bags!
Now they’re stepping up the production value of their games and have found a way to make the games boxed in an inexpensive way so they can have more market penetration.
Of course they don’t want to compromise on the quality of the game, but have they done enough to compete with the big boys and grab shopper’s attention at your FLGS?

Every once in a while, a moment of clarity will occur in your life where you have to kind of sit back and re-evaluate just what the hell it is that you think you’re doing. For some people, it’s sitting in a bar, completely tossed and chain-smoking Marlboros, realizing they should quit the lifestyle before they become a sucked-up Iggy Pop look-alike. For others it’s sitting, glazed, on the couch in a dope-fuelled stupor, perhaps concluding that you’ve been watching a TV that’s not even on, and that you should put down the bong for a minute. Life tends to kick us in the bollocks from time to time with little gems of wisdom, and about a year ago or so, I got mine.
Well, he had me at the word “game”. Of course I stayed and tried out Dixit. We had 5 players, and the game can handle up to 12. Five is a good number for a board game, there’s some variety in the players, but not so many that things get confusing.
