In the last 12 months, I have attended three conventions, Paizocon UK, Dragonmeet and Conception 2011. In the next 12 months I will be attending even more, and I wish I had time to go attend them all! The reason? Gamers are some of the coolest people on the planet.

Conception 2011

Conception takes place in Christchurch, close to Bournemouth at the Hobourne Naish Park in Dorset, where for 5 days, all sorts of characters take over the premises and fill up the tables with more games you know exist.

Dragonmeet 2010

Dragonmeet has three types of activities going on. Lots and lots of games (both established and beta gaming), the trade floor where a few varied companies sell their wares, and last but not least the seminars, where leading people in the industry spend an hour each showing you what a nice bunch they are (no…. seriously… they’re amazing).

PaizoCon 2010

I haven’t been to a gaming convention in 15 years or more, and the last one I went to I organised. Also, I will point it out now just so you can stop reading this if you decide not to like me, I don’t like Birmingham, which is where PaizoCon took place. So, as you can imagine, I was well of practice and out of my comfort zone.
