“Mecha vs Kaiju”, anime role playing game, returns through Kickstarter
Santa Rosa, CA – February 6, 2014 – WrightWerx is proud to announce the return of their “Mecha vs Kaiju” role playing game through the Kickstarter crowdfunding website. Mecha vs Kaiju is an anime-inspired tabletop science fiction RPG, where Japan fights against the constant assaults of giant monsters by harnessing the power of mighty robots. Game players take the role of daring pilots, who pit their mecha machines against the unstoppable kaiju monsters.
With the success of last Summer’s “Pacific Rim”, and the upcoming reboot of the “Godzilla” franchise, now seems an ideal time for a game that allows players to create their own giant monster adventures. Writer
Johnathan Wright has previously brought his love of Japanese pop culture to the tabletop in 2006, when his original Mecha vs Kaiju setting won a contest and was published in Green Ronin’s True20 system. Players praised the full sourcebook which followed for its campaign details. Now Johnathan is bringing this setting to the Fate Core rule-set, adding innovative systems for anime-inspired archetypes, stunts, and fully customizable mecha and kaiju creation to this already robust game engine.
Kickstarter is the world’s biggest crowdfunding platform and has helped hundreds of game writers fund their projects, including the creators of Fate Core itself. The Mecha vs Kaiju Kickstarter launches on Saturday Feb.
8th and runs until Sunday May 9th. Please feel free to contact Writer/Publisher Johnathan Wright if you have any questions.
