Does Anyone Care for RPG History?

I don’t know you guys, but I am a sucker for TV program in the “the-way-they-used-to-be” lines. You know.. the type of programs that show adverts from 30 or 40 years ago, or snippets of television that leave your mouth open at the rather tasteless fashion statements. Boy thank goodness those perms are gone! (No… I refuse to admit I thought they were cool at the time… and so do you!)

A Gaming Innovator – David Ausloos

Recently I came across an indie game called Kagematsu and I was very taken by the premise that the GM is meant to be a woman, while the players are meant to be males playing female characters. I thought it was intriguing and started to wonder how much thought is given to gender and sexuality at the time of designing games

Geek is the New Cool

In the last 12 months, I have attended three conventions, Paizocon UK, Dragonmeet and Conception 2011. In the next 12 months I will be attending even more, and I wish I had time to go attend them all! The reason? Gamers are some of the coolest people on the planet.

Conception takes place in Christchurch, close to Bournemouth at the Hobourne Naish Park in Dorset, where for 5 days, all sorts of characters take over the premises and fill up the tables with more games you know exist.

Games Are Fragile

I baby my games. Perhaps I’m a little too obsessive compulsive about keeping them in good shape–they are only games right? Still, I can’t help it. If one card is torn, one tile dog chewed, one pawn lost, the game just feels “broken.”
