Review: Mutants and Masterminds

By the looks of it, it seems that 2012 is going to be the year of the super hero. The Avengers movie has generated as much attention as it could be expected, the new Batman movie is well on its way and RPG land is indeed catching up with everything and everyone. The Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game is the first of this year’s releases, and it came with an incredible amount of success.

Epic Duels

Epic Duels may very well be the best light miniatures games ever made. It is the definition of a duel that is epic in nature, especially if you go to Star Wars conventions with wookiee hats on. But even if you’re not a fan of yellow lasers, if you like smartly designed, accessible skirmish games, then this should be at the top of your list to buy.

Thunderstone Heart of Doom

It’s been almost a year since I started playing Thunderstone with my review of Dragonspire. Since then I’ve bought and played every expansion and promo with the sole exception of the 2nd promo (‘Cause it’s outta stock). Heart of Doom will close out the series and with a little creative re-jigging of my Dragonspire box, it will also fill my box with only enough room for a couple more promos.

U-Boat Commander

I went into playing this game a low level of interest. I did some checking and the DVG Leader series of games is pretty well regarded so I thought that at least the pedigree of U-Boat Leader was good.
