Today Kuźnia Gier officially announced their new Essen release. The game is entitled “1984: Animal Farm” and created by the team responsible for “Kingpin” and “Alcatraz” – Krzysztof Cywicki, Rafał Cywicki and Krzysztof Hanusz. It already has a BGG profile which is going to be regularly updated by the publisher, just as “Maximum Security”, announced earlier this week.

SAN DIEGO, April 24, 2012 – Gary Games, a top industry gaming company, will be hosting the Ascension World Championship Qualifier event leading up to its inaugural Ascension World Championship at Gen Con Indy 2012 on Aug. 16 through 19.

The World Champion Qualifier events will be held in local game stores throughout the country during April 28 – May 27 and offer winners free guaranteed entry to the first Ascension World Championship, a four-day badge to Gen Con, plus exclusive promo cards and other Ascension items.

pic1290861_md[1]Why?  Well, last year, we published the cooperative, comic-book themed card game, Sentinels of the Multiverse, and released it at Gen Con!  Since then, we have received a lot of great attention.  Tom Vasel of The Dice Tower called us the #1 game of Gen Con 2011, and then, Sentinels of the Multiverse was named Game of the Year by Drew “GeekInsight” Massey at Giant Fire Breathing Robot!
As a result, it’s hardly surprising that we are now out of Sentinels of the Multiverse.  All gone.  Sold out.  We actually “sold out” well before PAX East and had to tell some distributors, “No, we’re keeping these 150 copies to take to PAX East.”  So!  We’re re-printing Sentinels of the Multiverse, but BETTER.  Really, we were inspired by the level of quality we were able to attain with our Rook City expansion, and are no longer as satisfied with the initial print run.  The Enhanced Edition of Sentinels of the Multiverse will include a bigger, stronger box, filled with much higher quality cards.  The new box will hold all Sentinels of the Multiverse cards, including the core game and expansions, and divider cards to keep things organized.  There will be tokens, TOKENS, for tracking hit points and various modifiers!  Even the rulebook is even getting spruced up.  Adam is in the process of touching up and improving the art, making the game look even better than before.

98796Tidied up, tinkered with, added to (a little) and wrapped up in a somewhat shinier package. This is the Urban Faerie Pocket Edition. If you liked Invaderz, odds are you’ll like this…

Faeries living like rats in the walls cause havoc for the filthy humans. A beer-and-crisps game you can pick up and play in short order, even while drunk.

imageGosh, Spies! is 120 pages of information for your Agents of SWING games, expanding the scope of the game into the realms of Saturday Morning Adventure cartoons with a particular emphasis on girl’s adventures.
The book has information and ideas on running SWINGgames for children and particularly for girls. While the book itself is not necessarily for kids and younger teens, it should help you create and run games for them.
More generally Gosh, Spies! contains rules for creating child characters, some new child/teen oriented stunts, background for two boarding schools, information on the teen subcultures of the 60s and 70s and an introductory, Saturday Morning style adventure called ‘Field Trip’
