The pdf kicks off with an introduction to this pdf version of the great Quid Novi-newsletter (which I’ve been receiving for the better part of a year by now) and then goes on to the gaming material. Each section is prefaced by a cool, aptly-written short IC-text.
Northlands is a sourcebook for the North, to state the obvious, but from the very beginning you’ll realize that it goes above and beyond what you’d expect of e.g. an environment-book like e.g. 3.5’s “Frostburn”, which will serve as my point of reference for this review.
The issue kicks off with a very interesting editorial rant by Ben McFarland on the lack of truly legendary, big and ambitious products with a long gestation period, essentially making a case for grander designs and less fast designing. Interesting points, I think, as the pace of some releases has been neck-breaking. (1 page)
