The Stars Are Right
This game is incredible. I know this might make you just skip the rest of the review, but please bear with me; there is a reason for that, but first things first.

It is with great pleasure that I announce we have our first podcast ever! After quite a few weeks of

During these hard economic times, it’s nice to be able to find a good little game for less than £10 and that’s exactly what Archaeology is. For just £6 you can pick this little card game up and be playing within 5 minutes, but what’s it about?
Games, for the most part, have a theme. Many games are designed entirely around involving players in their theme. RPGs form the lion’s share of these, and the remainder form a category that is commonly referred to as Ameritrash (this isn’t a derogatory term in most circles, despite the sound of it).
With the large amount of new CCG’s released every year at Gen Con, I have found it hard to find info about these games and their creators. In my home town one of these new companies exists, PK Cards created In Mentor, Ohio. I have the pleasure of speaking with Brandon Pelok about once a week. On this visit I decided to put him in the hot seat.
Greetings all, thanks for taking some time to check out my review of DOOM: The Board Game. I will review each component of the game, in broken down paragraphs and then give my over all opinion on the game.
This game is a tile-based romp where the players are heroic types who need to rid the countryside of all the nasties that tend to overrun said countrysides. You do this by retaking territories, which are comprised solely of the tiles themselves, and to retake a territory, you simply need to have enough soldiers to take that territory.
Dungeon crawlers come in many flavours; there’s your classic hardcore adventures like Descent, filled with statistics and many different coloured dice. There’s also D&D, of course, either in it’s ‘proper’ RPG form or the recently released streamlined variant that is Castle Ravenloft. If you’re after something a little more accessible, you could do a lot worse than hunting down a copy of the wonderful HeroQuest – one of the first ‘big’ games I ever got as a child, and one I still love to this day. I recently spoke with James Mathe from Minion Games, a new-ish company based in Wisconsin in the United States. We discussed what they’re up to right here (have a look, it’s very interesting!) and covered a game they put out last year called Those Pesky Humans. While it may look cutesy, it actually falls somewhere between the three games I mentioned up there – TPH is the very definition of not judging a book by the cover…
By Brian Rayburn Today I’m going to review a new game from Soiree Games called TactDecks, by Eric Etkin. TactDecks
