DuCo, a first play review

The perpetual casual gamer in me loves filler games. More often than not, though, I get disappointed because, more often than not, filler games are not very satisfying. They’re not that good, or that deep or, simply put, that fun.

Duco was offered to me by the creator and they advertise the game as “easy to learn, difficult to master”. When I received the game and saw that, I let a loud *sigh* leave my lips. The number of times I’ve heard/read that escapes me.

Wrong Chemistry: Expand Your Lab

The campaign for Wrong Chemistry has been launched:

In Wrong Chemistry, players want to collect as many points as they can by forming molecules based on the cards they draw. The expansion Wrong Chemistry: Expand Your Lab adds to the action of the base game, first by allowing for play with up to five players, and second by adding new element cards that expand upon the tactics of the base game by giving you new ways to earn points and by using both sides of the hex tiles.

Snowdonia

Snowdonia, released last year, takes as its setting and theme the endeavours of the Snowdon Mountain Tramroad and Hotels Company Limited (mouthful and a half) in the final years of the nineteenth century to build a railroad from Llanberis to the top of Mount Snowdon. Snowdonia is a worker placement game of, to my mind “middle-weight”play and despite having played a fair few train games this one stands out as something different.
