Organising seminars at conventions is hard work, though they’re also tremendous fun and, when one has the privilege of sharing the space with personalities like the ones in this seminar, it becomes a joy.
This seminar takes four influential names in the board and role playing games industry and puts them in touch with the public, answer questions and and challenge views you didn’t know were there.
The Nazis were crazy. I mean… truly. Apart from being a bloodthirsty bunch of despicable bastards (if you challenge my statement, please stop reading now and leave my website. And don’t come back) they spent a huge length of time looking for myths and studying the occult in their quest for world subjugation.
Kenneth Hite has done a great deal of reading and research to find out about these Nazi escapades in their search for the true roots of their “purity”. And my goodness it has paid off!
And then the UK Games Expo arrived. WOW!
For starters the venue this year was changed. We were located at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, which is pretty much adjacent to Birmingham NEC and the Airport. Easy to get to by train and plane. The hotel is pretty huge and it was able to accommodate the more than 7000 people the Expo saw last year. And the extra 3000 that have attended this year. It was pretty amazing!

This week in my gaming group there were two copies of Z-Man Terra Mystica and the 8 of us wanted to play it. Well, I wasn’t mad about playing it, but I’m happy to play anything, so I thought “what the heck… let’s play an Euro”.

I had the pleasure of taking to Joanna Gaskell, the producer, writer, actress and overall brains and passion behind Standard Action, one of the bet produced and funniest fantasy web series out there.
The series has gone through one full season and season two episodes are being screened now, with still some episodes to come. Season three is currently being funded in Kickstarter and has already got enough money to produce the third season, though there are some really cool stretch goals to come.
