I got this book at Dragonmeet pretty much by accident. I stumbled upon it in the second hand table and, because it was cheap and it was colourful, I bought it. Little did I know I was going to enjoy it so much and what it kept inside!
The test of time is probably the best test there is. If something looks, feels, reads or plays well 15 or 20 years after it was first published, you can tell you have something special there. Of course, waiting 15 or 20 years to find out if your work is any good is a bit too much to ask.
But just in case anyone asked, I am reviewing the second of a trilogy, The Seeker, a Dark Sun novel by Simon Hawke published by TSR in 1994.
Looney Labs are surely specialists in simple, fast playing, family games and this looks like it fits the model. Based on an earlier published game, Aquarius, this is a dominoes-like game for 2-5 players age 6+ where the object is to be the first to play your cards and connect 7 Dragons.
This Kickstarter project is different though. This is different because the company behind it, Louis Porter Design wants to give away the results for free!

I have had an idea for a game. It’s a card game. In the game, the players have to hunt down a bunch of witches who are performing spells on innocent people. Once they are found, they have to be burnt to death without trial because, as we all know, once you’ve made a spell, you are no longer worthy of being called a human being and deserve to die. The more witches you kill, the more points you score and, at the end of the game, the player who’s committed the most number of murders wins.
