iOS Spotlight: Battle Fleet
Now that I’ve finally advanced out of the dark ages and gotten an iPad and iPhone, I’ve realized that there’s a veritable sea of amazing board game ports and strategy games out there to waste time with. I’m firmly of a mind that eventually, all games will become digital, with only the most afflicted of Luddites still having the cardboard versions.
Epic Duels
Epic Duels may very well be the best light miniatures games ever made. It is the definition of a duel that is epic in nature, especially if you go to Star Wars conventions with wookiee hats on. But even if you’re not a fan of yellow lasers, if you like smartly designed, accessible skirmish games, then this should be at the top of your list to buy.

Monsters Menace America
I don’t care who you are, unless you’ve been under a rock or living in sub-saharan Africa for the last 50 years, chances are that you know who Godzilla is. And if you know what he is, you know what he does: break shit and kill people on an epic scale. While the 1954 release of Gojira in Japan spawned countless other “big monster terrorizing a city” flicks, the most recent notable one being Cloverfield, it did not spawn all that many board games of the genre.
Battleship Galaxies: The Saturn Offensive
A week or so ago I received a very advance copy of Battleship Galaxies, one of the most anticipated games of the year, and from the time I opened the box I was mesmerized by the amount of time and detail that the folks up in Pawtucket have put into this game.
