This game has straight A’s as far as the miniatures go. Any game that provides the same miniatures that the stand alone Dungeon & Dragons Miniatures Game provides can never be questioned. This game does just that, it provides the buyer with 41 unpainted minis that are identical to the D&D Minis line. The miniatures are a gem to paint for any of you painters out there, and the fine detail sculpted into each character or creature is excellent.

Small World was one of this year’s Meeple’s Choice Awards, and with good reason. This game, similar to Days of Wonder’s other juggernaut, Ticket to Ride, combines simple rules with a focus on strategy to create a game that’s easy to learn, but provides a challenge each time.
In the beginning, there was Dominion. And it was good. Very good. So good, in fact, that plenty of others were inspired to explore this “deck-building” genre that had been created. Thunderstone may have been the most prominent response to Dominion’s popularity before this year, but Origins and GenCon showed that there’s plenty more on the way.
