Roleplaying and board games reviews, podcasts, videos and interviews

LAS VEGAS, NV – September 6, 2013 – The Dragon Kings design team announced today four new contributors working on the project.

“This is a large and varied project with considerable need for writing, art, and music,” says project creator Timothy Brown. “We are glad to include these additional talented contributors.”

Cartographer Diesel, a contributor to Dungeons & Dragons projects from its earliest days, has agreed to map some of Khitus’ (the world of Dragon Kings) more dangerous locales.

Brazilian game designer Ricardo Bianconi, whose most recent project is the Pistolero RPG, joins as a concept designer. “My love for Dark Sun greatly influenced my writing career,” says Bianconi. “It’s a personal pleasure to work together with (Dark Sun co-creator) Timothy Brown!”

Artist Thomas Babbey joins to add his illustrations to Dragon Kings. Two pieces have already been presented via the project’s social media. Tom currently employs this passion in his work as a freelance illustrator and concept artist, with clients including Upper Deck entertainment, Sony Online Entertainment, Fantasy Flight Games, Cryptozoic, and Square Enix Games. According to Babbey, “Dragon Kings is easily the most exciting project I have had the chance to work. It’s a perfect blend of storytelling, fantastic visual grit and passion. When put together, all these elements combine to make something that’s wholly unique and all together special.”

Guitarist Mark Stevens lends his talents to the Dragon Kings concept CD, having already contributed tracks to the song Lotus Warriors, which was released on YouTube last week. “This is some of the best music I’ve been involved with. (Dragon Kings musical director and former Queensrÿche guitarist) Mike Stone is writing some terrific songs for the project.”

About Dragon Kings

Dragon Kings is Timothy Brown’s ‘spiritual successor’ to his award-winning Dark Sun role-playing universe, co-designed with author Troy Denning and artist Gerald Brom for the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game. Dragon Kings is a new fantasy game world conceived and presented in fiction, art, and music simultaneously. The project will be crowd sourced and eventually expand beyond role-playing and music into comics, video, and computer games. The product launch envisions a hardbound game book, an art-intensive album-sized world gazetteer and lyrics booklet, and a full-length progressive rock CD.
