Dice & Slice is a new webseries currently in pre-production stage that’s all about games, gamers and food. The series aims to showcase how some tabletop games (boardgames, card games, wargames and roleplaying games) are played and how to cook quick and easy meals to eat with your friends.

Currently the project is gathering momentum and you can find out what we’re doing here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gmsmagazine/a-g-m-s-magazine-webshow-dice-and-slice-season-one

We need a new logo for this show and this is what the competition is all about.

The prize winner will get £100 sent via Paypal and will be credited in the credits of all the episodes of the series. The mention will be extended to future seasons of the series too and will continue until (if) the logo changes.

The Brief

Create a logo that is in tune with the existing look and feel of the website and logo, but that looks distinctive enough for people to identify the series with that logo.

The existing website is: http://www.gmsmagazine.com/

You can use any font you like (as long as you have the license to use it) and the name of the show must be included in the logo.

The logo must be supplied in Illustrator format (otherwise embroidery companies could have difficulties using the file.)

Uses for the logo are, included but not limited to

  • Show visuals

  • Website

  • Printed material

  • Embroidered in tshirts and the like

The competition starts as soon as you read this and it will go on until April 15th 2014. After that, a winner will be announced at the end of the same month.

How to enter

Entries must be emailed to submissions@gmsmagazine.com with the subject “Dice & Slice logo entry”. Entries received after the 15th of April will not be considered.

Only one entry per email and a maximum of 5mb in size.

The Contest is open only to individuals. The Contest is not open to companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.

Entrants should take care to ensure that their Entries are not in any way similar to existing logos or other copyrighted images.

All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing design.

The not-so-small print

By entering this competition you commit to adhere to the rules. I know this sounds like an obvious thing to say but there are some crazy people out there.

The winner of the competition grants perpetual reproduction rights to Dice & Slide and G*M*S Magazine. That means we’ll be able to use it as many times as we need to and for as long as we need to. If we need to alter the logo, we will but we’ll also let the author know. We won’t change the logo unless we totally have to.

The competition will be judged by the producers of the show and a selection of the viewers. If the judging panel feel none of the entries is of high enough quality to become the show logo, we’ll declare the contest void.

The judges’ decision is final.

Good luck to everyone and look forward to your entries!
