A UK Games Expo 2012 Review

Well this is my first ever review of my first ever UK Games Expo so a double cherry popping!

As this was my first expo/convention in over 20 years of gaming, given that I’m currently 39 I sort of understood from listening to several podcasts (admittedly American ones) what to expect but was still overwhelmed by the sheer amount of ‘stuff’ that was present as well as the number of people that attended.

My good friend Michael Fox from the Little Metal Dog Show was lucky enough to meet David Brashaw and Leonard Boyd from Backspindle Games at UK Games Expo for a video demo of their long term labour of love, Guards! Guards! which is based on the Terry Pratchett Discworld novel. Michael picked up their prototype and did his review and now its my turn.

An Interview – Nigel Scarfe of Imagination Gaming

I’ve known about Imagination Gaming for a while now as one of my gaming buddies works with them. I also have seen the impressive beehive of activity in the Children’s Zone at UK Expo that is run by the very committed team led by Nigel Scarfe. All indications and comments that I have come across indicate that Nigel and his team are absolutely convinced that families are key to the future of our board gaming hobby.
