War of Honor

I’d heard bits and pieces over the years about the Legend of the 5 Rings RPG and CCG’s and was always somewhat fascinated with the theme – fantasy, ancient Japan, Samurai, Ninjas and all that. Trouble is, I’ve never had the inclination to really invest time or money in either genre of game so I just let it pass. Lo and behold, AEG comes along with War of Honor, an entry into the world of L5R and my interested increased. After all, it was supposed to have 4 fixed CCG decks, and simpler rules to get stuck in.

Thunderstone Dragonspire

I was very fortunate, once again, that the nice people at AEG sent me out a copy of Dragonspire to try out and, spoiler alert, I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’ve never played a deck building game before and to be honest the concept never really appealed to me but Thunderstone has hit the table every night this week.

The Adventurers

The Adventurers has been nominated three times in the Unboxed Awards, once for Best Family Game, once for Most Innovative and once for Best Artwork. and I’ll let you know if I agree with these nominations at the end.
