The D&D Business; Or The Impossible Art of Trying to Make Everyone Happy

One of my most admired RPG writers and players of all time is Monte Cook. Monte’s understanding of setting, intrigue, balance and the relationship with the player is pretty amazing. His ability to actually come up with new ideas that can be brought to fruition is also pretty staggering.

I first spotted this Agricola-style worker-placement game in my local gaming store, David’s in Brighton. I really liked the cover art, which was very thematically earthy in its colour scheme and text style, and the blurb on the back of the box sounded intriguing too (“With a balance of luck and planning, the players compete for food in this pre-historic time”).

Review – The Stolen Throne

I decided to have a go and bought one of the novels. It has been written by David Gaider, lead writer for the video-game, so at least I knew the guy would have a thorough knowledge of the plot, characters and the setting. He didn’t disappoint… at all!
