This pdf from Abandoned Arts is 4 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 2 pages of content, so let#s check this out!
Following the premise of the line, the pdf begins by providing 4 new feats to modify the deep slumber spell:
- Dead Slumber: +2 HD for sleep and deep slumber.
- Enchanted Slumber: This is roleplaying gold: Upon waking from magical sleep, you fall in love with the first being you see. GLORIOUS plot-device feat!
- Fitful Slumber: When a creature wakes from your spells, they are fatigued for a number of rounds equal to the number of rounds they slept.
- Suspended Slumber: You may opt to delay the onset of sleep up to 1 minute and then trigger sleep as a swift action. If you can’t see the awesome tactical options this one has as well as the glorious narrative potential, I can’t help you. Two thumbs up!
As with the web-shelter-pdf, we get 4 rather interesting, well-written adventure-hooks, all of which I can see being used. Neat!
The second page is taken up by a new monster, the CR 7 Wukwuk, an avian race of humanoids that feasts on dreams and may warble you into sleep. Also rather cool: It’s harder to sneak past sleeping wukwuk than to pass those that are wide awake. A cool creature with an ok original artwork, which for this price-point is neat indeed, though it probably won’t get you excited.
Conclusion:
Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn’t notice any glitches. Layout adheres to Abandoned Art’s 2-column standard in full colour and adheres to the landscape standard. The pdf has no bookmarks and needs none at this length.
2 ok feats, 2 superb ones, 4 awesome hooks and a neat creature for the low price – this pdf sticks to the high standard established by the first Spell Power-pdf: A solid, nice pdf with cool options and an easy 5 star-rating for the very humane price.
Endzeitgeist out.
