This installment of the L4L-line is 9 pages long, 2/3 of a page front cover, 1 page editorial/SRD, leaving 7 1/3 pages of content for new discount magical gloves, so let’s check them out, shall we?

In this installment of Loot 4 Less, we get 15 new pairs of gloves, from gloves that shoots webs (very iconic and cool to the Armiger’s gauntlets that help you get armour on and off, we are treated to a wide variety of new gear. The Deathgrippers, for example, grant you a +2 to grapple checks and against disarm manoeuvres, specific and useful, yes, but not entirely awesome.

Among the gauntlets and gloves presented, we also get some far out, rather ingenious ideas: The Force Thrust gauntlets, enable you to make ranged trip attempts with a range increment of 10 ft. without dealing damage. Read this again and then start thinking – I can see a nice little variety of combat styles and manoeuvres based on this little gadget and that’s what good items can be about – igniting the spark of creativity. Useful Gloves that can hold staves and facilitate switching them in combat are included as well, making this rather under-utilized item-class more versatile in its usage.

There is one item that is a bit on the whacky side, the wrist bow: One glove features a miniature crossbow, the other the ammunition and when you want to, the crossbow grows and can be used as the weapon. Apart from staying loaded indefinitely and a “curious & weird”-factor, I’m not exactly into the idea, but mechanically, I have no problem with it.

Conclusion:

Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn’t notice any glitches. Layout adheres to the full-color SGG-standard and the artworks are neat. The pdf has no bookmarks. mechanically, I have nothing to complain in this installment of L4L – none of the items felt unbalanced, utterly weird or broken. I was kinda missing the spark of total Genius, but this is complaining at the highest level. Thus, my final verdict will be 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.

Endzeitgeist out.
