Plus1Hammer Gaming is the brain-child of Father/Son entrepreneurs, Alan & Thorin Thompson. For over a year they have been creating and designing several games, but the first one out of the gate is FORTRESS MOON, a 2 to 4 player Strategic boardgame set in a Retro 50’s Future.

Quickly they recruited Jordyn Boci as their Concept Artist and she began sketching out the design work for the Units.

It was by chance that they other artists for FORTRESS MOON met Alan whilst shopping his online store. They were interested in the 50’s Scifi ascetic and after viewing Jordyn’s Concept Art they begin sketching out designs for the Game Cards.

The Plus1Hammer Team has a series of videos on YouTube explaining the game mechanics and other details about FORTRESS MOON.

Alan and Thorin plan on launching a Kickstarter Campaign in the coming months to fund the first 1000 units. They also plan to attend DragonCon this year to promote the game/Kickstarter.

FORTRESS MOON STORYLINE

The Second World War lasted longer than expected. It wasn’t until 1953 that the fighting ceased. War torn Earth was in shambles and precious energy sources have been fast depleted.

However, technologies brought about through the war allowed Man to land on the Moon. There scientists discovered Element X, which when refined was found to be a powerful source of energy.

Mine-bases were soon built by the Great Nations of the Time; the United States, the USSR, and the Republic of China. With the new energy source being sent back to Earth times were finally beginning to look up, but the Lunar Miners and their families felt they weren’t being treated fairly. Conditions were getting worse everyday. Riots began followed by the Great Revolt. The Miners stood as one calling themselves the Lunar Colonists. They drove off anyone not sympathetic to their cause. Earth was feeling the strain of this Revolt and as a last ditch effort launched space ships loaded with armies to the Moon!

This is were are game takes place. The beginning of a 6 Wave Attack from the combined Earth Forces. The Lunar Colonists have converted their mining equipment into weapons of war. Why even the Mechanical Operated Miners (or M.O.M. Units) were reprogrammed for fighting!

Each card features a Light at the top which represents what Phase the card may be used on. Some cards are for Combat, some for Movement or Resources.

HOW DO YOU WIN?

The game ends when either the Earth Forces capture 16+ Mine-bases and the Lunar Colonist cannot reclaim any back before in the of the Turn, or when the Lunar Colonist has held 15+ Mine-bases long enough that the Earth Forces no longer have the resources to launch an another assault or til the end of the 6th Turn.
